In the state of Mississippi, 731,457 residents were enrolled in Medicaid/CHIP coverage by March of 2022, reflecting the state’s 14.79% increase in enrollment rates following the Marketplace Open Enrollment Period of October 2013.1 To promote enrollment for those eligible, and to promote Medicaid and CHIP coverage, Mississippi has adopted one or more of CMS’s promotional strategies, hoping to pull more enrollees to these programs.1 For agents, this means having the opportunity to expand their business while guiding new enrollees toward coverage that best meets their needs.
