Minnesota Medicaid/CHIP Coverage

In March of 2022, 1,296,284 Minnesotans were already enrolled in a Medicaid/CHIP plan, a number of enrollees 48.48% higher that than prior to the Marketplace Open Enrollment Period of October 2013.1  To spur further involvement in these programs and increase those receiving Medicaid/CHIP coverage, Minnesota has deployed targeted enrollment strategies which, along with the net increase in enrollment, bodes well for health insurance agents looking to expand their clientele.1

Minnesotans receiving their health insurance coverage through these programs would likely benefit from working with an agent whose expertise they can trust to navigate the health care system and find a level of care they’d like to receive. For adults receiving Medicaid in Minnesota in 2020, the state reported that only 22 of CMS’s 27 quality of care measures were being met.1 As an agent providing consultation on coverage in Minnesota, the members you work with would trust in your expertise and would appreciate your guidance in their health care decision-making.
