Is posting original content, meaning content that you created yourself to promote your business with the plans you work with, always a good idea? 

No. Depending on the plans you’re promoting, you may not be allowed to upload content you’ve created yourself to market for them. Some plans will have a library of pre-approved marketing content that you can customize and share with your followers which gives you the opportunity to promote your business in compliant ways.1

Can you post photos of members, prospects or event attendees on Facebook?

No. Posting photos containing identifiable features of other people should be avoided.1 In certain cases, when someone has signed a legal release form, it is allowed to share photos of them on your Facebook Business page.1 For example, if you’re speaking at an event hosted by a public figure, you may upload a photo of yourself with the host if they sign a release form giving you permission to share photos with them on Facebook.1

Are you allowed to share testimonials about your business on Facebook?

No. Testimonials count as marketing content, and as marketing content, would need to be approved by CMS to ensure it meets compliance standards and regulations before being shared with your audience.1 Testimonials should not be posted on Facebook to avoid needing to go through a submission process for CMS approval.

Can you post marketing content provided to you by the plans you promote on Facebook?

Yes. This is the best way to share content with your audience as the materials shared by plans contain content they approve of, which can help you navigate compliance.1 In certain cases, these materials might also be customizable, so you can make them your own without needing to take the time to create new content from scratch.2 

Are you allowed to repost content from a plan’s official Facebook page?

Yes.  are allowed to share content using Facebook’s sharing features, but some plans do not allow you to save their content by downloading it and uploading it as your own. These plans will require you to share content, not repost it.
